The focus of this course is on the creation of a school safety committee, the use of outside resources, and involving the community. This course presents a cooperative and comprehensive approach to school safety and security.

Five areas of school security will be discussed: 1) Management (Policies & Procedures); 2) Building Security; 3) Staff Training; 4) Violence Prevention & Intervention; and 5) Crisis Management.

Participants will learn how to personally implement specific strategies and access helpful safety resources. Participants will also benefit from a tabletop emergency preparedness exercise.
